Stoned on a Friday, crazy with the weekend;
LED lights blend livid colour changes.
Blondie is here, dancing.
The dog watches us warily,
The cat has scarpered - she hates this scene.
There are no curtains; large windows reflect the light and us -
That cubist mirror slices us, mixes us up,
Two become 20, a fragmented multitude.
The floor is smooth and forgiving - socks on, boots off.
I care too much about the music choices;
She is tolerant, hardly cares - she will always dance with me.
My body is week-long tired, but all my darlings are here and it’s Friday night.
This is the mirror in our house; the Nanoleaf (out of shot) is shifting through a scene; the colours from the Lazur painted wall and from the LEDs are warm and fiery: this is a Friday night vibe. I hope you can feel some of its joy.
My 2024 goal is to get my WIP out. (A campus novel. Predictable subject-matter, unpredictable story). If you’d like to support that, here’s 3 simple ways to help.
